What a wonderful way to start the month. We had new friends who found us on the webpage and contacted us. They are Michael & LeeAnn Patin from Wenatchee, WA.  Michael is a pharmacist & LeeAnn a Christian Event Coordinator.  They contacted us and said we want to help your ministry. They spent their whole vacation side by side with us at the school just loving and teaching everyday. Also Michael took me to a local pharmacy and purchased tons of drugs and medical supplies for the children.  They were referred to us by old friends, Don & Sheila Hellstrom. Folks, I can't tell you how important your referrals over the years have blessed the children and our ministry.

March brought us an early Easter and thus a short month as the children were out of school from March 15th to March 31st.

But that didn't stop David Zude from arriving on the last day of school to prepare and help us for the following Monday when the Pastor had his 3 day VBS.

Faye and I went out an purchased a large plastic swimming pool as Pastor said he always has a wet VBS.  So with the pool they already had a large sheets of plastic for the children to slide on we were off and running. Plus the church team from Des Moine, Iowa, consisting Clayton & Carol Kennedy & 8 member church team joined us in the merriment. The younger members of the team put on a puppet show everyday and romped in the water with the kids. And also had a water balloon toss with the kids. But I don't want to leave out the others that frolicked in the water like Ray and Pat Cox, Joel & Leslie Kelliner & Pastor's daughter.  If you can believe it after a few hours almost all of them were shivering in Puerto Vallarta.

But I can assure you that there was also deep bible teaching through crafts, CD's featuring Hermie & Veggie Tales.  The children were feed two hot meals, breakfast and lunch.

The Des Moines Church Team

We had about 60 children attend the VBS and no one left hungry or sad. We saw many smiles from kids & staff as they interacted with the love of Christ.  I know when we had a "Going Away" dinner for the church team at our home and asked for individual reports from all church members many had tears in their eyes and catches in their voices. That said, I know the children and the Lord were well served. Thank you again Pastor Ric for bringing the team from Des Moines. And we also want to thank Randy & Dodie Costales for the use of their beautiful home for the church team. And last but not least a thank you to our semi-permanent teachers Ray & Patt Hodgson-Cox & Leslie & Joel Kelliner.
